Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Anne Bryan Smollin who died unexpectedly Thursday morning, September 25, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, N.Y. Many know Anne Bryan as an animated speaker at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress. She was scheduled to speak at our upcoming Congress 2015. She has gifted, graced and made us laugh for many years. She will certainly be missed by all of us. May our gracious God welcome Anne and hold her sisters and family in a close embrace.

The Congress "app" (a mobile event guide) for Congress 2015 attendees has been released. It features speaker information, session schedules, workshops, maps and more! It is accessible from all devices with an Internet browser — smartphones, tablets and desktops. Note: You will need to enter your personal schedule, since the app is not directly connected to the registration system. Access to the RECongress app at archla.org/congressapp

Download the Youth Day app for iPhone and iPod Touch now, and it will automatically update itself every year when new versions are released. With this app you can stay up-to-date with all Youth Day speakers, musicians and performers by following them on Twitter, viewing their websites and even finding them on Facebook.

Youth Day is much more than just a one-day experience and this app will allow you to keep with you what each speaker and musician says long after the day is over, and check out their websites and find out how to put everything they said into action.

If you are having any technical problems with the app and would like to report a bug or have more questions about the app, contact the developer at CGonzalez@la-archdiocese.org

Congress strives to offer experiences that stimulate new ideas and renew excitement about ministry, reinvigorate faith and help restore a spirit of hope. This happens through ritual, prayer, music, dance and Word – not only from workshops, but through the various daily liturgies we offer. We invite you to experience a liturgy from among the many cultures represented.
